What is Direct Primary Care?
Direct Primary Care (DPC) started from the idea that going to your family doctor can be affordable without using health insurance. You tell your doctor what is going on, and your doctor treats you directly– bypassing the insurance company. You can still use insurance for prescriptions, lab tests, etc., but you have the option of getting these at wholesale prices – many times less than what an insurance company may charge you. You can also still use your insurance to pay for specialist visits, although we are negotiating no-insurance rates with these doctors too. The DPC model of care has been around for 20 years or so, but is a relatively new concept to Columbia. DPC practices want to make it easy for you to see your doctor! You can schedule your own appointment, walk out of the office with your medicines, and save hundreds on lab testing. We like to think of DPC as old-fashioned care, using modern medicine.

Frustrated with the restrictions caused by health insurance regulations she decided to take a leap of faith, starting her own Direct Primary Care Practice with a goal of helping simplify healthcare for you and your family. Loving to cook and bake, you and Dr. Boylan can share recipes while discussing your health plan.
